It works perfectly with gear holders like the Kolpin Ratcheting Rhino Grips using our UnderSeat GUN RACK / GEAR MOUNT

This is how the Defender should’ve come from the factory. The the center piece is fully usable! Brought the comfort level to a 10! Usable as an armrest, backrest, cup holder. Even makes you feel more secure in seat. And, it even works as arm rest while rifles are in gun rack! Was super easy to install. Video was extremely helpful. Thank you!
